The Nanyang Technopreneurship Center
(NTC), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) has won the
International Council for Small Business (ICSB) Global Awards in Entrepreneurship
Education Excellence (Graduate Level) for 2018. The award was
presented at the ICSB World Congress Gala in Taipei on 28 June.
The ICSB, which was founded in 1955, is
the oldest and largest non-profit organization dedicated to promote the growth
and development in small business and entrepreneurship. The awards were created
to recognize excellence in entrepreneurship education, for the undergraduate
and graduate levels. NTC’s Master of Science Technopreneurship and Innovation
Program (MSc TIP) clinched the Graduate Level Award, beating other
internationally recognized entrepreneurship education institutes such as
University of Missouri, Kansas City (USA).
The judging panel, comprising industry leaders Dr Winslow Sargeant,
Senior Vice President of Partnerships and Development at ICSB, Dr George
Solomon, Editor in Chief, Journal of Small Business Management cum
Director of Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence at George Washington
University, and Dr David Hong, President from Taiwan Institute of
Economic Research, made the selection based on the quality of each
program’s curriculum, pedagogy and impact generated.
